Colectați toate monedele în număr minim de pași

Având în vedere multe stive de monede care sunt aranjate adiacent. Trebuie să colectăm toate aceste monede în numărul minim de pași, unde într-un singur pas putem colecta o linie orizontală de monede sau o linie verticală de monede, iar monedele colectate ar trebui să fie continue.
Exemple:  
 

  Input :   height[] = [2 1 2 5 1] Each value of this array corresponds to the height of stack that is we are given five stack of coins where in first stack 2 coins are there then in second stack 1 coin is there and so on.   Output :   4 We can collect all above coins in 4 steps which are shown in below diagram. Each step is shown by different color. First we have collected last horizontal line of coins after which stacks remains as [1 0 1 4 0] after that another horizontal line of coins is collected from stack 3 and 4 then a vertical line from stack 4 and at the end a horizontal line from stack 1. Total steps are 4. 


 


Putem rezolva această problemă folosind metoda împărțiți și cuceriți. Putem vedea că este întotdeauna benefic să eliminați liniile orizontale de jos. Să presupunem că lucrăm la stive de la indicele l la indicele r într-un pas de recursivitate de fiecare dată când vom alege înălțimea minimă, eliminăm acele multe linii orizontale după care stiva va fi împărțită în două părți l până la minim și minim +1 până la r și vom apela recursiv în acele subbariere. Un alt lucru este că putem colecta și monede folosind linii verticale, așa că vom alege minim între rezultatul apelurilor recursive și (r - l) deoarece folosind (r - l) linii verticale putem colecta întotdeauna toate monedele. 
Deoarece de fiecare dată când numim fiecare subbary și găsim minimum din complexitatea timpului total al soluției va fi O(N 2
