Lähestymistapa 1: Iteratiivinen (silmukan avulla)

Perinteisin tapa löytää merkkijonon pituus on kulkea jokainen merkki silmukan läpi.

• Käytä laskuria, käytä jokaisen merkkijonon merkkiä Loopin avulla.
• Päivitä jokaisen hahmon laskuri
• Kun merkkijono päättyy tai tunnistetaan tyhjä merkki, katkaise silmukka.
• Palauta laskurin arvo merkkijonon pituudeksi.
